Dinosaur Socks!

My son is totally into DINOSAURS and when I came across these on Pinterest I HAD to make them for him!
They were fairly simple to make!
You will need:
A pair of Knee high socks.
A sheet or two of felt.
Scissors, straight pins and a sewing machine (or you can stitch them yourself)

Basically, you cut a straight line in the back of the socks folded inside out (I just cut it right on the fold line!), add the cut out shapes from the sheet of felt with straight pins and sew it back up! Be sure to leave some space at the bottom for the sneakers.

Valentine's for Kids (non candy!)

Here is the recipe for the Homemade Playdough that I will be making for Cole to give out as Valentine's Day instead of candy!
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/4 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 Tbls. vegetable oil
food coloring (I used 4 drops)
Just dump all the ingredients into your pot and give them a good stir.
Put your pot on the stove and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it forms into a ball.
As soon as it joins into one big glob, take it off the heat and dump it onto your counter or some wax paper. Wait for it to cool, then knead it a few times until it is nice and soft.
After it cools I took a cookie cutter and shaped it into Hearts and bagged it up to be put into individual goody boxes. I couldn't help but add some candies in! After all, what's Valentine's Day without CANDY!

Valentine's Day Cont'd

Here are a few other decorations I made for the Valentine Party.
PinWheels out of scrapbook paper and straws and 1 brad. I also made a Heart Garland out of scrapbook paper cut 1"x6" and using just 2 staples made hearts and strung them together.

Here you can see in detail how I stapled the hearts and just strung them thru before adding the 2nd staple.

I hope I have enough decorations to make the party at the park seem festive. I'm sure the kids will have fun handing out their Valentine's either way with their valentine mailboxes I found at the Dollar Tree. I also picked up some "mini Mailboxes" at target that I will decorate for the party. Happy Valentine's Day! I will try to take a few pics of the party next Monday and share them.

My First Photo Shoot with Baby Annabelle

I have the chance to take some infant photo's of my friend's baby that was born just over a week ago!! I am all for practicing with my new 50MM lens and new camera!
I got some props to use with the baby and here I just took a few photos to get aquainted with my camera and te settings.
I was so happy to find this Picnic Basket complete with the red gingham lining! I found the sunflower vine and thought it would look great with this basket! These Butterflys might look great in an infant setting so I got three of them. They have a little clip on them too.

I found these HeadBands at a great price so I picked up three; Red, white, and pink. I got some letters and made a bracelet but since her name is so long I decided to add it to the headband for the photo.

These Booties were also a great deal and soo small! I got white and pink and hope they fit!!

I got a few big flowers and added them to the headbands with some velcro so I can change the flowers out easily between shots.

I hope I get a few great shots for my friend. I am excited and hope I have enough time to get all the shots I want to get in within the hour and a half that I will have next week while Cole is in school.

Valentine Tshirt for my son

Valentine's Day is on its way. Not only did I choose to make the decorations for the Moms group I am in but I thought I would get creative for Cole and his class this year. Here are two photos of the T-shirt Cole will be wearing on "Love Day".

Sorry the photos are sideways but you get the idea! I just used white and red puffy paint. It took no time at all to finish this and I think he will look so cute with his faux hawk wearing this shirt! I will share the other Heart Day projects I have been working on soon. They are: Heart Garland, PinWheels, and for the kids in his class I will be making homemade Playdough and bagging it up in cute little goody boxes. I also plan on making his teachers alittle something too!
