Family Tree Canvas

This is a Family Tree I made for my MIL for her Biirthday. She has been obsessed with ancestry.com lately and I thought this would be a nice gift for her to add all the information she has learned about her family. The blue sky and green grass was painted on the 15x30" canvas and the tree I cut out from cardstock and the leaves were cut on the cricut. The L was also cut on the cricut. I added her son and I and her grandson at the bottom by the flower at the bottom. This was a really fun project and I am thinking of making one for Cole for our wall!

Gabrielle meet paper bag mini cont'd

Here I cut the leaves out on the bigshot and embossed them with tim holtzs distressed embossing powder. The flowers are my great find at SAS fabrics for .39 for 10! I stamped the top butterfly and colored it in with glimmer mist. The bottom butterfly is from the collection. I handmade the banner at the bottom and crackle accented the crown. When you open the flap you can see I added a journaling tag from the collection and a photo mat behind that. The large tag above I added some lace and trim and a fold out book.

This is a fun little book that will fold out and you can add pics and journaling. I used a mask and some glimmer paint to the cover.

This is a fun little pop out and I cant wait to add photos to it!

Stay tuned for more pages soon! :)~Beth

Gabrielle meets Paper Bag mini Cont'd

Another page in the album! Here is a tag page. I used some of the stickers from the collection and lace that I got from SAS fabrics. I added a journaling half circle that spins around on the brad.

Not too many techniques on this page to share. One of the tags was hand made with a mask and some paint.

I inked the edges of the lace to age the look some and added a stick pin and a tiny handmade flower our of satin.
Watch for the next page soon. :)~Beth

Gabrielle meets Paper Bag Mini Cont'd

Here is my lace and flowers page! I added the lace by bunching it up at the bottom of the flap and then some flowers and some bling. The circular butterfly holds a mini book that comes out and you can add photos to that book accordian style! I cut the little butterfly out so it can slide abovve the circle and hang out there!! I hate covering up butterflys! All these flowers I got at SAS fabrics by me and they were .39 for a bunch of 10! Great deal and I have been pretty happy with them! The smaller ones sometimes fall apart on me if I glimmer mist them too much but I just add some glue because for the awesome price they are totally worth alittle extra work!

When you open the flap you can see I kept it pretty basic with just a 4x6 tag for photos on front and back and then below I will add a photo in the oval shape with a journaling tag that will hide behind the photo! Stay tuned for another page in my album soon :)~Beth

MNI Scrapbooking Layout

Here is the layout for this months MNI scrapbooking class! I am thinking of making a second layout as this is should go together fairly quickly.

Close up of the detail. We will be cutting the purple strip with a lace paper punch edger. That will be the hardest part of the page!

Gabrielle meets Paper bag Album Cont'd

This is the last page in the album and the back of the Waterfall page. I call this the Circles page. The front of the flap on the page pictured below I added a photo mat with a tag pocket at the top. I made a tag and added the pretty flower at the top to peek out above the photo. I then added 2 circles with one being a journaling circle. The other holds one of the butterfly brads that came with this collection. Some flowers and a butterfly were added to finish off the page. If you look closely you can see I made this flap "close" by sneaking the bottom right corner of the page sneak behind the paper on the binding. I will try to "close" most of the flaps in some sort of way as I do not want them flopping all over every time you go to change the page!!

When you open the flap it reveals all the space for so much more! I made the 2 tags at the top with a new paint that looks very similar to what I would think the new opaque chalk glimmer mists look like! The one solid tag was from a tag swap with Steffogal on month and I painted the heart stamped image with glimmer mist and then painted the rest solid. I then cut out the half bottom of the image so I can tuck it into the pocket! I love how it turned out and that you can see the whole heart when its in its pocket! The other tag was masked with some die cut paper and I sponge painted over it to get a fun look. A cirlce journaling spot is next to the tags. Below that is another circular Photo Mat with two circle jornaling tags that come out. Watch for more pages soon :)~Beth

Bo Bunny Gabrielle Paper Bag Mini 1st page done

Here is the first page that I finished of this mini! I can't say enough how much I am enjoying this new concept for the paper bag mini! I have changed things up alittle more and decided to try to make a waterfall page instead of the pocket for tags on this page and it came out great! I folded the pocket in half and that is where I worked the waterfall into the page down at the bottom where the brads are. I made all three flowers and the 3 hat pins with swarovski crystals. Prima bling and a little tag is hanging out of the pocket at the left with a sticker from the collection on it.
Here you can see some detail of the waterfall, bling and the chiptag with the friend sticker. I actually added a butterfly just under the chip tag and thought I would try to get a butterfly embellie on each page for fun! stay tuned for more page layouts!

"Gabrielle" by Bo Bunny meets New Paper Bag Mini!

I am getting ready to have some fun and make a Paper Bag Mini along with Kathryn on the scrapbeach ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGRmiFd5MIU ).We will be using Kathy Ortas new idea ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLIAy1bR7bQ ) for a different way to make a paper bag mini. I am very excited to try it out and even more excited to work with Bo Bunnys Gabrielle collection! Let me tell you how hard it was to get this collection! Especially the 6x6 pad! I went crazy looking online for it and thanks to the help of a fellow beacher on http://thescrapbeach.ning.com/ I was able to get it! It is such a beautiful collection with my favorite colors! So, I thought I would share what I have "hunted and gathered" for this paperbag mini so here goes: Here is my basket of goodies: Here you can see almost the whole collection of Bo Bunny Gabrielle with the exception of my 6x6 paper pad that is on the way to my house as we speak! I also picked up the chipboard cutouts from the Flora and Fauna collection that I couldn't pass up at Michaels.
You can see here I went thru my stash and got anything that I may be able to use in the mini including stamps, flowers and some that I have already prepped with glimmer mists, buttons, dew drops, trim and lace.
I also found some prima flowers I cant wait to add to this album, some chipboard cutouts and frames, script from a book, some flock in pink and purple, tim holtz filmstrip that I have already made a couple flowers with thanks to Kathryn's help, some book plates, and some awesome paint that is so shimmery and fun to play with!
Here is my prepped paper bag mini and I chose to bind it with Kathryn's idea so it will hold up and not come apart. I also like the idea of using binding rings as it gives extra space for the bag to "grow"!! I added the chipboard as Kathryn shows in her video and got my papers picked out for each page.
So, if this looks fun and you wanna play along join us on saturday at the ustream show! http://www.ustream.tv/channel/live-on-the-scrap-beach

ALTERED BOOK

Here is the ALTERED BOOK I tried to do for Marion Smith's Challenge....of course I forgot to post it for the challenge but I had fun making it anyways.
I found an older book at the library book sale for .50 titled "That's a Keeper!". Seeing that book made me think of my 2 boys (hubbby and son) who love to fish and thought I could have fun with that book and what a steal of a price! So I stuck 2 quarters in the slot where it said "PAY HERE" and was on my way.
I cut a 4"x6" hole in the center of the book and added a photo of where my boys go fishing. The fishing pole was cut out by hand and to make it strong I added it to some recycled plastic from when I bought some Tim Holtz grungeboard. The sun was also handcut and I used glimmer mist and stickles to make the sun shiny!
A close up shows the shiny sun, some leaves, some little "berries" that I found in the floral section and a flourish made by making memories from Michaels. The TITLE of the book is on a Tim Holtz Fragment with some red glitter letter stickers. I also added a real fishing hook which I put hot glue on the tip so I wouldn't actually CATCH my own finger!

Here is a close up of some flowers I found in the floral section of Joann on clearance! I added some of the berries and some flourishes to the corner as well.

Here you can see when you pull out the top picture of the pond that they fish in it reveals the photo below which is of my to "KEEPERS"!!! On that photo I added some grass, a tree, and some flowers.

Here you can see I made the fishing pole "CATCH" my boys.
So, theres my take on the altered book. I hope you enjoy it :)
